My Geothermal Heat Pump

Part 3

INSTALLATION OF THE GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMP

After I finished the piping I needed to fill in the trenches.   I didn't particularly want to put clay back in so I bought some topsoil.  I got Scotts Premium Topsoil.  After using it in this project and a subsequent one, I wanted to look into it a little more.  I was surprised by the contents of this product.  I have summarized my findings in the video below.

Next it was time to have the geothermal heat pump installed.  I called my HVAC guy and told him I had the site ready.   I am very fortunate to have a very fine HVAC company in my area.  If you live anywhere near the Foley, Alabama area, you just can't do better than Tim Courtright with American Air Heating and Air Conditioning.  Tim and Lee with American Air installed a Florida Heat Pump unit.  It works great!

I thought that would be the end of the project. Just one problem - My well pump was cycling on and off way too much. More about that in Part 4.
